Liverpool and Spurs along with Inter Milan are after the player
Mario Suarez’s agent has revealed that a Premier League club has made an offer for the midfielder.
Liverpool and Tottenham are the two English clubs reportedly interested in the Atletico Madrid man, who is set to be on his way out of the Spanish capital.
Inter Milan are the frontrunners to sign the 28 year old, and were believed to be close to agreeing a deal.
But an offer from an as yet unknown Premier League club has now made things interesting.
Agent Manuel Garcia Quillon has quashed rumours that Inter had tied up a deal for Suarez.
Agent Reveals Premier League Bid
“We’re waiting to speak to Inter and Atletico Madrid,” Quillon told Italian football website Calciomercato.
“At the moment we’re still waiting. We have another offer.
“Is it Milan? No, I’m talking about a club in the Premier League.”
Suarez made 34 appearances for Atleti in all competitions last season, but a bid of £8.5 million is likely to convince the La Liga club to start negotiating a transfer.
Tottenham will hope to make the holding midfielder their first summer signing, whilst Liverpool will attempt to continue their summer spending spree, which has seen them sign no less than six new players.
The Reds are after another central midfielder to partner Jordan Henderson, after Steven Gerrard‘s departure to LA Galaxy.
