Premier League clubs on alert as PSG plan January fire sale
Paris Saint-Germain are looking to offload a number of stars in the January transfer window in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, according to reports in L’Equipe.
Hatem Ben Arfa, Angel Di Maria, Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore called all be allowed to leave in the new year, putting a number of Premier League clubs on high alert.
None of the four have been regular starters since the summer arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, and could be allowed to leave on the cheap especially if the Ligue 1 continue to spend so freely.
Di Maria came close to joining Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar in the summer but the move never materialised. However, a move to England may not be his preferred choice after his failed stint at Manchester United.
Hatem Ben Arfa is another who has played in the Premier League with Newcastle United and Hull City. He has yet to feature for PSG this season, and there are rumours that Leicester City could try and sign him in January.
Meanwhile, both Lucas and Pastore could also be available for less than ÂŁ20million, a price that is surely worth the gamble in the current market.
Neither have quite made the desired impact since big money moves from Sao Paulo and Palermo respectively, but have plenty of talent and could flourish again with regular football.
Arsenal are one club who are looking for attacking reinforcements as they prepare for the probable departures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
According to reports today, they will be shopping in Ligue 1 and are set to sign France and Lyon star Nabil Fekir for a club record fee.
