The curtain-call on this year’s Premier League

All Premier League matches will be taking place on Sunday afternoon this weekend and all will kick off exactly the same time due to it being the final game of the season.

With the title sorted, the top-four sorted and two relegation spots already confirmed, there is just one thing people will be keeping track of and it’s who will complete the bottom three.

Hull City, Sunderland and Newcastle United are all in danger of dropping to the Championship, with Steve Bruce’s side favourites to go down as they currently sit two points behind The Magpies.

Premier League Sunday Finale Predictions

The final week of predictions is brought to you by lead-writer Alex Batt and Senior Writer Ben Reardon, who will make their picks for the Premier League Finale.

Arsenal vs West Bromwich Albion

Alex Says: A nothing game for either team really. I expect Arsenal to win here as they usually do at the Emirates Stadium. The Baggies will be happy with their season, but it will end in defeat. Match Prediction: 3-0

Ben Says: I expect a routine Gunners win, despite the fact that Albion are in good form. Pulis has worked wonders at the Hawthorns, but their campaign will end in a defeat in north-London: Match Prediction 2-0

Aston Villa vs Burnley

Alex Says: How different this game could have been if Paul Lambert was still in charge. Thankfully for Villa fans they are safe and will be in the Premier League next season. Sadly for Burnley fans, they won’t be and I can see them going out with a loss as Villa end the season on a winning note before their FA Cup final. Match Prediction: 2-0

Ben Says: Villa have a Cup final on the horizon, and will be hoping to send their fans into the Wembley showpiece with a win against a Burnley side who have lacked quality in the final third recently. Match Prediction: 1-0

Chelsea vs Sunderland

Alex Says: Chelsea are the rightful champions and will probably field a mixed starting XI. As for Sunderland, this game could be huge depending on their result against Arsenal tomorrow night. However, I think Chelsea will overcome The Black Cats, which could end up relegating them. Match Prediction: 3-1

Ben Says: Despite the hammering for Chelsea on Monday, the champions will round off their title-winning campaign with a comfortable three points against a Sunderland side who are still not safe from the drop. The Black Cats will need to rely on results elsewhere. Match prediction: 3-0

Crystal Palace vs Swansea City

Alex Says: A tricky game to predict as both teams have nothing really to play for. Both sides will want to end on a winning note though so I’m going down the middle and saying an exciting draw. Match Prediction: 3-3

Ben Says: Both sides have enjoyed fine seasons respectively. Palace look superb under Alan Pardew, following the 3-1 victory at Liverpool, whilst Gary Monk’s achievements have somewhat gone unnoticed at Swansea. I can see a share of the spoils at Selhurst Park. Match Prediction: 1-1

Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur

Alex Says: Another game with little meaning, but I think The Toffees will emerge with three points. A terrible start to the campaign cost Roberto Martinez’s men any chance of Europe, but they’ve enjoyed a solid second-half. Roles are reversed for Spurs who started well, but faded away. Match Prediction: 2-1

Ben Says: It has been an odd Premier League campaign for both teams. Everton have under-performed in mid-table, whilst Spurs are still in contention for a European place following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Hull. Match Prediction: 0-2

Hull vs Manchester United

Alex Says: All eyes will probably be on this game. Hull need to beat United to stay in the Premier League and sadly I just don’t see them doing it. I reckon they could snatch a draw due to Louis Van Gaal’s men having nothing to play for, but sadly for Hull, it won’t be enough. Match Prediction: 1-1

Ben Says: This is a massive game for Hull, with their top-flight status on the line, and welcome a United side who are on a high. As much as I like Steve Bruce, I can’t see them getting the three points they need, and they will be confined to Championship football next term: Match Prediction: 1-2

Leicester City vs QPR

Alex Says: This is another game that could have been HUGE weeks ago, but Nigel Pearson has worked wonders at the King Power Stadium and has somehow kept Leicester safe. QPR will be in the Championship next season and will finish their Premier League experience with a loss. Match Prediction: 2-0

Ben Says: Well, Leicester’s revival has been a miracle. They looked dead and buried a few months ago, but a brilliant run of form has seen Nigel Pearson’s men emerge to safety. They will beat a QPR side who are already relegated, turning on the style at the King Power: Match prediction: 3-0

Manchester City vs Southampton

Alex Says: Surprisingly this could have been another massive game had Saints kept up their impressive campaign. Sadly for them they faded off in the second-half of the season and now look settled for Europa League. As for City, second place looks theirs and I think they will win to end the season. Match Prediction: 3-2

Ben Says: Whatever the result, this is likely to be Manuel Pellegrini’s farewell to the Etihad Stadium. I can see the hosts edging it against a good Saints side, with the absence of Fraser Forster and other personnel handing City a tight three-points, ending the Chilean’s reign on a high-note. Match Prediction: 2-1

Newcastle vs West Ham United

Alex Says: Luckily for Newcastle there have been three teams worse than them this season, it appears to be. Yes they could still be relegated this weekend, but I don’t think they will be due to Hull City. I do however reckon they will be made to worry as a draw looks on the cards at St James Park. Match Prediction: 2-2

Ben Says: Given Newcastle’s abysmal run of form following the 2-1 defeat at QPR, they will be reliant on scores elsewhere. Sam Allardyce returns to St James’ Park to manage West Ham for what will probably be the last time, and he will want to get one over his former club, and I think he will, despite a poor end to his Hammers’ reign. Match Prediction: 0-1

Stoke vs Liverpool

Alex Says: A real nothing game. Liverpool’s season has been woeful on and off the field quite frankly and I reckon it will get worse here. A loss on the final day and potentially Raheem Sterling’s final Liverpool appearance. Match Prediction: 2-0

Ben Says: Stoke have enjoyed another impressive season under Mark Hughes, which has been aided by their home form at the Britannia. With Liverpool rocked by the Raheem Sterling fall-out, expect the Potters to dent Liverpool’s Europa League hopes. Match Prediction: 3-1
