Premier League giants trying to lure Turkish star
Premier League giants Arsenal are interested in bringing Oguzhan Oyzakup back to the club, according to reports on talkSPORT this week.
Oyzakup spent four years in the academy at the Emirates and even made two first team appearances for the Gunners, before leaving for Besiktas in 2012.
The 25 year-old has established himself as a star in Istanbul and is now a regular for the Turkish national team. Arsenal have been so impressed by their former player that they are now supposedly looking to bring him back.
talkSport say that Arsene Wenger has offered ÂŁ10million for the attacking midfielder. He could be seen as a long term replacement for Mesut Ozil, who is expected to leave the club in the summer.
Oyzakup helped Besiktas to Turkish league titles in 2016 and 2017, and is now starring in the Champions League with the Black Eagles taking the competition by storm this season.
Incidentally, he was involved in a heated clash with former Arsenal star Robin van Persie in a match against city rivals Fenerbahce last season.
Once teammates and friends, Van Persie came to blows with Oyzakup after scoring the winning goal for Fener. His celebration caused controversy and the pair are no longer on speaking terms.
This should endear him to the Arsenal faithful, the majority of whom consider the Dutchman a traitor for leaving to join Manchester United back in 2013.
