According to reports, Chelsea were unsuccessful with a £68m offer for Romelu Lukaku last year.

So/Foot Magazine, via Sport Witness, claim that Blues owner Roman Abramovich personally tried to buy the striker away from Everton with an offer of £68m plus bonuses.

However, it was never confirmed whether this was true or not.

Reports are now saying The Premier League leaders are expected to launch another offer for the 23-year-old this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season’s campaign in the Champions League.

On top of that, other reports are claiming that Lukaku is unhappy that Everton owner Farhad Moshiri denied his transfer to Chelsea, but this has not been confirmed and is most likely just made up by the media.

No one mentioned in these reports has confirmed any of this, therefore, fake news and lies by the media!
