French giants to test Klopp’s resolve to keep midfield star

Paris Saint-Germain are set to make a sensational £40 million bid for Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana in January.

The 28-year-old is in the form of his life at Anfield, coming along significantly since joining the club from Southampton in 2014, and has helped the club to second in the Premier League.

The Ligue 1 champions are looking to bolster an already lucrative squad with a bid that would also see Lallana nearly triple his current weekly wage of £70,000 to £200,000-a-week,

PSG are ready to make a move for the Reds star in January, with a club insider admitting: “Adam is seen as a player of real quality in the Premier League.”

Dutch legend and now PSG director of football Patrick Kluivert believes Lallana in the best English player in the Premier League and is keen for his club to get their hands on a player who has excelled under Jurgen Klopp so far this campaign.

“His age is not a problem as the club want the best players — and he is one of them.” said the PSG club insider.

The Ligue 1 champions hope they can test Klopp’s resolve and tempt him to part ways with the midfielder, despite Liverpool currently going strong in the league.
