Ramis fails Palace medical

The Spanish defender was expected to seal a move to Selhurst Park after Palace agreed a fee with Wigan for his services.

Cardiff City were in the hunt for Ramis’ signature earlier this month after also agreeing a fee with Wigan only for the player to fail a medical with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The 29-year-old moved to Wigan from Real Mallorca in 2012 and played 16 times for the club in the Premier League last season.

An anterior cruciate ligament injury last January halted his participation for the club and sidelined the defender for the best part of a year.

But he appeared to have put his injury problems behind him after returning for Wigan this term, starting seven matches for the club.

Ramis will now return to the DW Stadium where his contract with Wigan runs until 2015.
