Ray Wilkins warns Chelsea that next season will be “doubly” difficult for the west London side
Chelsea were the Premier League’s top team this season as they took the title in new boss Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues missed the chance to snatch a domestic double in Conte’s first season after they were beaten in the FA Cup final by Arsenal just last last month.
Conte will now turn his attention towards the summer transfer window and his squad, as he looks to prepare his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
And former Chelsea coach Wilkins has some advice for the Blues saying the club can expect a much tougher season in 2017-18 ad they are will have a more congested fixture list.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon, Wilkins said: “I think they will be OK, Chelsea, but next season will be doubly difficult with Champions League football.”
