Real Madrid set to replace Zidane

After having an awful run in the league, Real Madrid are set to sack Zinedine Zidane and replace him.

Madrid are 4th in the league with 32 points. They are well behind arch-rivals, Barcelona, who are at the top of the league and lead them by 16 points.

Reports suggest that Madrid president Florentino Perez has already decided to call time on Zidane’s reign at the end of the campaign and has held talks with the 45-year-old’s replacement.

He is confident that Joachim Low will accept his proposal and move to Spain. However, it is not as easy as it seems. The 57-year-old has a contract with the German Football Association (DFB) which runs until after the end of Euro 2020.

But Madrid believes that they can reach an agreement with the DFB to get him to the Spanish capital after the end of the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is also on Madrid’s radar, although he still has nearly three years remaining on his contract with Spurs.
