Real Madrid are in the hunt for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, according to reports.
Kante has been compared to Chelsea legend Claude Makelele since his arrival in West London, and it appears there may be yet another similarity in the future.
Makelele played for both Chelsea and Real Madrid, and if reports are to be believed, Kante may follow suit and be bound for the Bernabeu.
Zinidine Zidane is said to be a big admirer of the Frenchman, who has been in impressive form since last season where he helped Premier League underdog hero’s Leicester lift the league trophy.
Since arriving at Chelsea this blistering form has continued, as he has helped the Blues transform their midfield and become top contenders once again, currently sitting at the top of the league, and clear favorites to claim the silverware.
Chelsea will almost certainly do everything they can to hold on to Kante, but it is often said that Real Madrid always get their man.
Despite this reported interest, Kante will be focused on the rest of the season with Chelsea, where they are still competing for both the Premier League and the Fa Cup trophies.
If they are successful, they will have Champions League football to once again look forward to next season – which may well be enough to encourage Kante to remain at Stamford Bridge.
