Aston Villa star, Ron Vlaar, is set to miss the next six weeks due to a knee injury.

The Dutchman limped out of the side’s draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend, and after medical tests, it’s now been confirmed that he will miss four-to-six weeks.

It’s believed the 29-year-old has suffered cartilage damage in his knee, and he’s now set to miss five Premier League games and possibly two FA Cup matches if they progress that far.

The good news about Vlaar’s injury is that it will stop him leaving this month to one of the Premier League giants.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all shown interest in the Dutch star, but with him picking up the recent injury, it’s looking likely that he will remain at Villa Park for the time being.

However, his contract expires in the Summer and that could see him leave for free.
