Ahead of Chelsea’s return to the Bridge for the clash against United in their FA Cup quarter final (7.45pm), Gullit points out how Chelsea are so superior with Conte’s approach.
The Blues no doubt have the best defence in the Premier League, which is their massive advantage over rivals Manchester United and Manchester City.
“For it to work (3-4-3 formation), you need great players at the back and great players up front, and that’s where Chelsea have an advantage over all their rivals,” Gullit wrote in his Daily Mail column.
“All the so-called ‘Big Six’ have enormous quality going forward. But defensively, Chelsea are the best.
“Manchester City and Manchester United are not as strong at the back, for example, and that is the difference.
“Chelsea are top of the league and will be favourites to beat United in the FA Cup on Monday.”
