But after Chelsea became upset with Victor Moses’ lack of playing time on Merseyside, Mourinho refused to allow another player to link up with Brendan Rodgers’ side on-loan.
And Villa have taken advantage of the fall out to bag Bertrand on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the youngster now set to get regular matches ahead of a return to the club next term.
