Sergio Ramos posts gruesome image after breaking nose in Madrid derby
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was forced off at half-time during Saturday’s Madrid derby after breaking his nose following a challenge with Atletico defender Lucas Hernandez.
The Spanish international could not continue after accidentally catching a boot to the face after going for a header, and it was revealed after the match that his nose had been broken.
Thankfully for Madrid fans, Ramos won’t require surgery and should return for their midweek Champions League match against APOEL Nicosia. Los Blancos managed a 0-0 draw without their defensive talisman.
After the match, the 31 year-old took to Instagram to thank fans for their support, and posted a gruesome image of his bloodied nose following the incident.
“I would bleed a thousand times for this badge and this shirt.” said Ramos in the post. “Thanks for your support. I’ll be back in no time. #HalaMadrid”
The draw leaves Madrid trailing leaders Barcelona by ten points in La Liga after they won 3-0 at Leganes earlier in the day.
