Spanish side no longer want Liverpool midfielder

Spanish side Sevilla have reportedly chosen to pull out of a potential deal for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.

Allen has been tipped to leave Anfield this summer after Jurgen Klopp put a ÂŁ14million price tag on his head for any club who wants to buy him.

The Welshman made just 19 Premier League appearances last term, and has struggled to live up to the ÂŁ15million Liverpool paid for him in 2012 since arriving at the club.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Celtic to link up with former boss Brendan Rodgers and Sevilla have also been showing interest.

Director Ramon Verdejo was said to be keen on Allen having lost midfield duo Ever Banega and Grzegorz Krychowiak to Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The report says Allen’s fine performances in Euro 2016 for Wales have boosted his market value and Sevilla can no longer meet Liverpool’s transfer demands.
