Sherwood: £100million for Lloris

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has claimed that the club won’t be tempted to sell no.1 goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the summer. Spurs look set to miss out on Champions League qualification for next season, causing the Frenchman to be a target for a whole collection of Europe’s elite clubs.

Sherwood has admitted it is no surprise to him that Lloris is a target, but has made it clear that only bids in the region of £100million would convince chairman Daniel Levy to sell. Lloris has a big oppertunity to shine on the internation stage this summer in Brazil at the World Cup, though Sherwood believes that his performances at international level will not make a difference, and with 2 year remaining on Spurs contract, maintains that Lloris will not be going anywhere.

“He is one of the best keepers around,” said Sherwood, “of course people are going to want him. But I’m also sure that the club won’t be tempted to sell him.”

“He is one of the top goalkeepers, and unless anyone is willing to spend £100million on him, I don’t think he will be leaving. Even if he was terrible for France in the summer, I don’t think that would change anybody’s view on him.”

“He has never said to me or anybody else that he wants to leave, he gives everything all the time. That is why he is a favourite of the fans.”
