United legend approves of move
Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is backing the club’s move to sign Celtic star Kieran Tierny this summer.
United face competition from Arsenal for the Scotland international, who are looking at him to replace Kieran Gibbs.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, the defender favours a move to Old Trafford and the Red Devils’ interest has been backed by Ferguson.
The Scot is a fan of the defender and is encouraging Jose Mourinho to make a move for the full-back.
Ferguson, 75, is more involved at Old Trafford under Mourinho and regularly travels with the squad on away days.
Unlike under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, Mourinho perceives Ferguson’s presence to be positive and recently invited Sir Alex to attend training.
