Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado has said that if he was younger, he would have returned to Spain by now. The 28 year old has struggled to get many goals in his first season at White Hart Lane for then a club record fee ÂŁ28million, with his goal against Cardiff City at the weekend being his first goal at home from open play. And Soldado reveals that if these struggles had occured earlier in his career, they may have forced him to quit the Premier League,

“If this had happened to me when I was younger, maybe 22, I would probably have returned home after a month, but I believe it is a positive experience for me, my family and my children.”

“I am the only one responsible for my poor form, but I will get better. We have a great team and I’m sure we can have a great season.”

He admits that his goal against Cardiff was important for him, adding, “It was a much needed goal for me and especially for my team mates and the fans. Despite all the time I have gone without scoring, the support they have given me is incredible.”
