Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio he is not going to run before he can walk in regards to Liverpool showing interest in the Portugal international.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield to apply some pressure on Simon Mignolet with Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones about to move on from the Reds.
According to reports, Liverpool sent one of their high-level scouts out to Lisbon to monitor the star in demand by many European clubs.
It has been stated that Patricio could be persuaded to move abroad from his own country to see how he gets on in a different league.
However, the one-club player would not go straight into Liverpool’s number one spot – he would have to fight Mignolet for the place.
Sporting Lisbon are asking for a fee of £11million to allow Patricio, one of their key players, to leave the club.
The player himself just wants to focus on the season ahead with Sporting and says he doesn’t want to get too far ahead of himself.
He said: “I only think day by day.
“I’ve no huge plans for the future, I live one day at a time.” he added.
