Alvaro Morata was signed on from Real Madrid for around £75m earlier this summer.

Following his arrival from Madrid, Morata is expected to battle Tottenham ace Kane and Manchester United goal machine Lukaku for the golden boot this 2017/18 Premier League season.

However, Collymore says the 24-year-old won’t be worried.

He told The People: “The Chelsea new boy will have had to put up with being told by the media – and probably in training – that he wasn’t as good as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Isco and Gareth Bale during his days at Real Madrid.

“But he still took his chances when they came to him at the Bernabeu and scored one or two big goals for the club.

“So with the greatest of respect to Kane, and Romelu Lukaku for that matter, I don’t think Morata will be too worried about going up against them in the Premier League.”

Collymore says he’d rather have Kane in his team – although the player turned pundit conceded that each player has different strengths.

He added: “I was asked last week whether I’d rather have Morata or Kane in my side, and it certainly had me thinking.
