Contract talks between Liverpool and their attacker Raheem Sterling have been delayed until the summer.

The England international has stated he wants to ‘concentrate on his football’ rather than extend his current deal which expires in 2017.

Both Sterling and his representative Aidy Ward have met with Liverpool consistently this season, but have again rejected another contract worth ÂŁ90,000-a-week.

It is believed that the 20-year old is holding out for a deal worth between ÂŁ130,000-ÂŁ140,000-a-week.

The Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers said: â€śWe won’t reach agreement between now and end of season, that has been made clear by Raheem’s representative and the boy himself. He wants to concentrate on his football and see in the summer.”

However, he added: â€śEverything is all speculation and we cannot worry about that. I repeat at this stage of his career it’s the best place for him to be, I’m sure it will be resolved.”

Liverpool face Manchester United this Sunday at Anfield in a game that has massive importance in terms of Champions League qualification.
