The Black Cats want to take Belgium on season-long loan

Sunderland are close to securing Adnan Januzaj on a season-long loan, according to reports.

The Belgium rose to the spotlight a couple of seasons ago after he netted a match-winning brace against The Black Cats, but his career has seemingly stalled ever since.

The 20-year-old was used frequently by David Moyes, but was never really given a chance under Louis Van Gaal during the Dutchman’s first year at Old Trafford, starting just seven Premier League games.

Sunderland Loan Move

After spending most of last season out of the first-team set-up, it was believed that Januzaj‘s future could be away from The Red Devils, and it now appears that he could spend a season out on loan at The Stadium of Light.

According to the Sunderland Echo, the two teams have held discussions about the possible deal, and both parties, including Januzaj, seem satisfied to complete the deal.

The report is claiming that the relationship between Van Gaal and Dick Advocaat has been crucial in the deal getting the green-light.

Januzaj’s first-team status at United is set to be damaged even further with the likely arrival of Pedro from FC Barcelona.
