The Chelsea captain has admitted Cech will give Arsenal a massive boost

John Terry has told talkSPORT Petr Cech would give Arsenal a real chance of winning the Premier League.

Speculation around the veteran stopper’s move to the Gunners has been gathering steam in recent weeks with Cech believed to have agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

Now, Chelsea skipper John Terry has told talkSPORT Arsenal would benefit hugely if the Czech international moved to the Emirates.

“There’s talk of Arsenal signing Petr Cech and he will strengthen them for sure. He will save them 12 or 15 points a season” said Terry.

A true professional

The Blues defender also spoke about how professional the 33-year-old was last season after being understudy to Thibaut Courtois and that he was a class act when called upon.

“When you get left out of the team it can be hard to accept but, when he came in [to the side], he was exceptional” added Terry.

Terry continued by commending his Chelsea team-mate for just going about his business and not being bitter over the situation.

“He deserves a lot of credit for that. We understand he wants to play first-team football but nobody wants to see him leave the club” explained Terry.

Arsenal’s current no.1 goalkeeper David Ospina has reportedly agreed personal terms ahead of a move to Fenerbahce following the news Cech might be joining the Gunners.
