Chelsea captain may join Lampard and Gerrard in the MLS

John Terry has recently admitted the lure of America may be an option post-Chelsea.

Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard recently announced their exits from the Premier League and Terry cites America as a potential destination in the future.

“Maybe there is a time when I look to go to play in America or whatever might be best for my family at the time” said the 34-year-old.

Whilst the veteran defender is a fan of the MLS he insisted he has plenty more to offer at Chelsea and thinks his age won’t affect his performances.

Defender’s importance

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho recently spoke of Terry’s importance and that was clear for everyone to see this season where he played every single game.

Should the Champions League winner decide to move on he is confident the current crop of academy players will step up to the mark.

Terry went on to say how he thinks the current squad has the potential to far surpass any that have gone before.

“It is harder than ever for them to breakthrough, but the rewards are greater than ever as well” said the former England international.
