Firmino has been in great form for The Reds this season but has often gone under the radar thanks to the exploits of Mohamed Salah.
The Brazilian Forward has scored 20 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Reds. He opened the scoring in the 2-0 win at Southampton on Sunday thanks to a rapidly built counter attack goal assisted by Mohamed Salah, but it was his assist for the second goal that impressed Henry the most. Roberto Firmino flicked the ball through to Salah who finished with precision to put it past the Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
Henry said: “Firmino, and not for the first time.
“The way he plays, the way he works. The assist that he had, just everything that he does.
“That’s why he always plays.
“This is for me the one. I’ve been in that situation sometimes where you flick the ball and it’s a flick like ‘I hope he gets it, I hope it looks good, oh what a flick’.
“No. Everything that he did had a meaning. I would have liked to have played with this guy.”
