Didier Drogba, Petr Cech and John Obi Mikel set for final appearance

Chelsea Football Club will be parading their Premier League trophy on Sunday afternoon after their finale game against Sunderland, but the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge could be saddened with the departure of three long-serving players.

Didier Drogba, Petr Cech and John Obi Mikel are all expected to leave the club over the Summer ending their long-term associations with the West London outfit.

The Blues are expected to have a busy transfer market, with three or four new players coming in and several others leaving.

Juan Cuadrado, Oscar and Filipe Luis could all be transfer listed by Jose Mourinho, but it’s three other stars that Chelsea fans will be sad to see go after their services for the club.

Drogba’s Exit

Drogba is entering the final month of his contract and as it stands, no formal talks between the striker and the club have taken place regarding a contract extension.

Due to being 37, the Ivorian would only be offered a 12-month deal, but the situation right now would see the striker leave on a free in June.

Drogba has made nearly 300 league appearances for Chelsea during his two separate stints. The striker spent eight years at Stamford Bride from 2004-2012, scoring 100 league goals for the club.

However, he then returned just two years later after failed moves to China and Turkey.

Cech’s Exit

Another long-serving legend leaving Chelsea is the goalkeeper, Petr Cech.

After spending 11 years at Stamford Bridge, the 33-year-old is set to leave the club over the Summer after falling down the pecking order this season.

Cech lost his starting spot to Thibaut Courtois and has failed to win it back since leaving him agitated on the sidelines.

According to reports, the Czech could be on his way to Manchester United or Arsenal.

Mikel’s Exit

As for Mikel, he isn’t deemed as big a legend as the previous two, but he’s still spent nine years at the club and gone on to make 223 league appearances.

The Nigerian is nearing his 30s and may want to start thinking about playing regular first-team football, something he won’t get at Chelsea.

The arrival of Cesc Fabregas and the emergence of Nemanja Matic has kept Mikel on the sidelines for the majority of the season.
