Chelsea, Newcastle United and West Ham all want striker

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin is at the heart of a three-way transfer tussle as Chelsea, Newcastle United and West Ham United all prepare Summer bids.

The England striker is all set to leave Loftus Road after they failed to stay in the Premier League once again, but he has a decision to make regarding who he joins next.

Austin Wants Move Away

The 25-year-old netted 18 goals for The Rs last season, but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the top-flight, and after being hammered by Manchester City, their relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Despite dropping down a league, QPR still want a hefty fee for their star-striker and are holding out for ÂŁ15million, even though Austin only has one year left on his contract.

Austin recently won an England international call up thanks to his form throughout the season, but he is now focusing on his club future and is in the middle of a three-way battle.

Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham are all interested in signing him, with the trio of clubs all looking for new strikers.

Chelsea’s Interest

The Blues and Jose Mourinho are in the market for a striker after losing Didier Drogba, but with Radamel Falcao soon to be announced on a season-long loan, they may step back a bit from the Austin pursuit, unless Loic Remy does in fact choose to quit.

The Frenchman doesn’t want to be third choice at Stamford Bridge and may choose to leave the club if Falcao does arrive.

Newcastle and West Ham

As for Newcastle and West Ham, both clubs have new managers and both want to stamp their own mark on the first-team, with strikers on top of their list.

The Magpies struggled for goals last season and Steve McClaren will want to put that right, whilst Slaven Bilic is set to make drastic changes for The Hammers.
