SillySeason will look into players that should consider a move away from the Etihad Stadium

Another feature from SillySeason today and it’s time to look into which players should leave certain clubs. Today, we are focusing on Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City.

Over the past few days, we have looked into what players should leave Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and also Liverpool, but today we will be focusing on last season’s Premier League runners-up, City.

Now a few players have already agreed to leave City over the past few months, leaving their squad pretty slim as it is, but there are still some players at the Etihad Stadium who would benefit with a move away from the club over the summer.

With Frank Lampard, James Milner, Richard Wright, Micah Richards, Dedryck Boyata and Scott Sinclair all leaving in recent months, City’s squad is rather small as it stands, but with summer signings expected to arrive, SillySeason will look into possible players who could or maybe should leave the Etihad.

So lets begin at number-5.

5) Samir Nasri

Now this will probably come as a shock to most people, but when you think about potential arrivals at the Etihad this summer, Samir Nasri‘s game-time may be on the short side.

City are linked with Paul Pogba, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, all of which can play in the same positions as Nasri. Either in the centre-attacking midfield role or out on the wing.

With the star-trio linked, that could see Nasri left on the bench for the majority of the season, and at the age of 28, that is not something he will want at this stage of his career.

The Frenchman had already been linked with a shock return to Arsenal this summer, but the midfielder quickly dismissed those reports by sending out a tweet on his official account.

Nasri informed his followers that he never asked for a transfer back to Arsenal and confirmed he is happy at City.

However, his game-time next season may change his mind.
