Reports suggest Juventus striker is on his way to Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Juventus striker Fernando Llorente, according to reports this morning.

It’s reported that the two clubs have agreed on a deal worth ÂŁ10.7million, and the Spaniard is willing to complete the switch after finding his game-time decline in Italy.

The Serie A champions have been busy in the transfer window, signing several new faces, with most of them being new attackers, meaning Llorente‘s game-time is set to diminish ahead of next season.

Liverpool to miss out again?

According to numerous reports, Liverpool were expected to make a formal move for the former-Athletic Bilbao striker, but it looks like they’ve missed out on him with Spurs closing in.

The Reds have already missed out on Carlos Bacca, who swapped Sevilla for AC Milan, and it now looks like they will miss out on a second striker target.

The 30-year-old has reportedly told Juve that he wants to leave the club in order to play regular football ahead of next summer’s European Championships, and a move to White Hart Lane could be his favoured destination.

When talking about the striker’s future, his agent said the following: “Fernando wants to be playing regularly so that he doesn’t lose his place in the Spain national team. Nothing can be excluded.

Spurs’ Striking Situation

Spurs are in the market for a new striker in order to help take the pressure off Harry Kane, who had a stunning debut campaign last season.

If Llorente does arrive, it could signal the end for either Roberto Soldado or Emmanuel Adebayor, both whom have declined drastically in North London.
