Tottenham want to hijack Chelsea’s transfer in January

Will Spurs pip The Blues transfer?

Tottenham are said to keen to beat Chelsea to the signing of Everton’s Ross Barkley, the Sunday Mirror are claiming.

Barkley surprisingly backed out of a move to Stamford Bridge during the last summer transfer window and both Chelsea and Spurs are favourites to launch fresh January bids for him.

The Sunday Mirror report Tottenham are ready to make a move for Barkley when the window reopens.

However, according to The Telegraph, Chelsea have an advantage over Tottenham because they are willing to talk terms now.

Spurs would rather wait until the end of the season when Barkley will be available on a free.

It’s said Chelsea and Everton would both rather get a deal sorted than let it drag out through January
