The Gabon international is wanted by Europe’s biggest clubs

Manchester United have taken firm interest in signing Borussia Dortmund’s £70 million-rated striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

The 26-year-old has took the Bundesliga by storm in the past couple of seasons, and broke a league record with seven goals in the first six games of the season. And he has continued that form all campaign, netting 34 goals in 41 games in all competitions.

And it is that scoring ratio that has attracted the Red Devils to bring in the Gabon international this summer, despite Louis Van Gaal’s future as manager in question.

Chelsea are the other English side understood to be interested in the Dortmund frontman, while Aubameyang’s former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the striker to Anfield.

Set for Spain

However, it seems Aubameyang may be snatched from United’s grasp, as Real Madrid look to take the former Saint-Etienne man to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 26-year-old reportedly promised his grandfather that one day he would play for Real Madrid, and looks to stick to that promise.

“Real Madrid? There is no agreement but I promised my grandfather I would play there one day.” said Aubameyang.

United are hoping to win back their fans, after a disappointing league campaign which sees them likely to miss out on the Champions League, by signing the Gabonese goal machine to bolster their attacking options up front.

Aubameyang has admitted that he would like to play in both Spain and England, but the Red Devils will have to act fast this summer, if he is to come to England first.

Thomas Tuchel is worried that his side, that has won admirers right across Europe this season, may be dismantled this summer, with Ilkay Gundogan reportedly off to Manchester City and Mats Hummels future in question at the Westfalenstadion.
