The Dortmund midfielder is not on their radar, according to senior sources

Ilkay Gundogan, 24, looked set to join Manchester United but the Daily Express claims they are no longer interested.

Gundogan will make his final appearance for Dortmund tomorrow in the German Cup final according to chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke, who is “confident” he will gone in the summer.

“It has not been our intention to see him leaving. It was his ambition to move clubs (this summer). Therefore we agreed. We will sell him” said Watzke.

Arsenal interest

The Gunners are also reported to be interested in the midfielder – Arsene Wenger thinks Gundogan would be the perfect anchorman in midfield.

Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann recently admitted Wenger should be prepared to do battle and land the Dortmund man whatever it takes.

“There are players out there, who would instantly make Arsenal a better team. They are supposed to be looking at Ilkay Gundogan at Borussia Dortmund” said Hamann.

Gundogan’s dream move

Despite Arsenal registering their interest, Gundogan, who is stalling on signing a new deal at Dortmund, wants a move to United instead, according to German newspaper Bild.

Louis Van Gaal has been granted a ÂŁ150m transfer budget to rebuild his squad in the summer and a top midfielder is one of his main priorities.
