Move for Dortmund star edges closer

Manchester United have offered Henrikh Mkhitaryan a four-year deal as a move for the Borussia Dortmund forward moves closer.

The Armenian has been locked in negotiations between his current club Borussia Dortmund and Premier League giants United, but is edging closer to a move that will see him become one of the highest earners at Old Trafford.

Mkhitaryan, 27, whose contract expires in one year, scored 23 goals in 51 games for the Bundesliga runners up last season and will certainly bolster United’s attacking options should he sign.

New manager Jose Mourinho sees Mkhitaryan as an ideal addition to his squad ahead of his first season at the helm of the Red Devils.

The skilful attacker’s move will now be done within days, in what could end up being one of the signings of the summer.

Dortmund are said to be targeting former Chelsea man Andre Schurrle as the Armenian’s direct replacement.
