The world’s fastest man is set to undergo a trial at Borussia Dortmund and has held talks with Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson about a potential move to United.

In what is possibly the strangest news to come out this season, world’s fastest man Usain Bolt is set to have a trial at Borussia Dortmund.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist revealed to Express Sport that he’s ready to embark on a new footballing career.

Bolt, 31, has retired from athletics and is eager to try join his dream club Manchester United. And it’s actually possible as he is set to have a trial at Borussia Dortmund in March.

Bolt said: “In March we’re going to do trials with Dortmund and that will determine what I do with that career, which way it goes. If they say I’m good, and that I need a bit of training, I’ll do it.

“It makes me nervous. I don’t get nervous but this is different, this is football now.

“One of my biggest dreams is to sign for Manchester United. If Dortmund say I’m good enough, I’ll crack on and train hard.

“I’ve spoken to Alex Ferguson and I told him he needs to put in a good word. He told me if I get fit and ready, he will see what he can do.”

And Bolt has not only spoken to Sir Alex, but he has also spoken to close friend and Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

“Me and Pogba talk a lot. I watch and ask him a lot of questions. I want to play but it has to be in the top league. I’m not content to be average.”

Bolt believes he will suit playing on the wing to utilise his speed. He may be 31, but he’ll still be the fastest footballer for many years to come.
