La Liga side have just appointed Gary Neville as their head-coach

Valencia may have just appointed Gary Neville as their new head-coach, but according to reports, the La Liga side want to appoint Jose Mourinho in the summer.

The Spanish side shocked the world when they announced their appointment of Neville, who has previously been coaching with the England national set-up, but they’ve only given him a short-term contract, sparking speculation that he isn’t their long-term plan.

According to reports this morning, Valencia officials want to see if they can lure Mourinho back to Spain at the end of the current season, with his job at Chelsea still under pressure.

The Blues have started badly in the Premier League, winning just four, but in recent weeks it looks like they’ve turned a corner and can build up some form with some nice fixtures over the Christmas period.

Valencia Want Mourinho

However, that hasn’t stopped Valencia wanting to make an approach for the Portuguese and that’s what they are expected to do in the summer.

A Spanish source told SunSport: “Many in Valencia believe Mourinho will come here next summer with Neville returning to England.”
