The Manchester United striker could leave Old Trafford after a lack of first-team football

Robin Van Persie met with his agent Kees Vos after a lack of starts, according to The Sun.

The Holland international has one year left on his £220,000-a-week contract with the Reds and both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have enquired about the striker.

When the question was raised about Van Persie’s future yesterday, Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal said: “You’ll have to wait and see.”

Qatari side Lekhwiya could be willing to sign the 31-year-old – managed by former Swansea chief Michael Laudrup – they are reported to be tabling a bid of around £18million.

The former Arsenal striker is due to meet with Van Gaal next week to discuss whether he will feature in United’s plans next season.

Since making the switch from the Emirates to Old Trafford back in 2012 for £22m, Van Persie has scored 48 goals in 86 appearances for the Red Devils.

Manchester United travel to Hull tomorrow where the Tigers will be hoping to cause an upset to stand a chance of survival.
