Premier League Predictions Week 35
With just four games left remaining in the Premier League, points are needed for several teams and this weekend could be massive for the bottom of the table and for a European spot.
With all 20 teams in action from Saturday to Monday, things will become a lot clearer in the race for survival and in the race for the top-7.
The biggest game comes on Sunday as Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City, but on the same day, Chelsea could be crowned champions with a win over Crystal Palace.
On the Monday night, Hull City host Arsenal with both teams needing points for different reasons, but lets first look into the Saturday games and make our predictions.
This week, our lead writer Alex Batt is going up against Junior Writer Charlie Gregory.
Premier League Saturday Predictions
Leicester vs Newcastle United Prediction
Alex Says: Massive game at the foot of the table. The Magpies were deemed safe a a couple of months ago but after seven defeats on the bounce, they are now right in the scrap. As for Leicester, four wins on the bounce before a Chelsea defeat has given them a strong chance of surviving. I’m backing The Foxes to pick up yet another vital three points. Match Prediction: 3-1
Charlie Says: Things haven’t been going well in the Newcastle camp as of late with boss Carver coming under some pressure. The club have gone seven games without a win and with Leicester battling to stay up I can see Nigel Pearson’s side adding to that win-less run. Match Prediction: 1-0
Aston Villa vs Everton Prediction
Alex Says: Everton have somehow saved their disastrous season and are now sitting comfortably in mid-table. As for Villa, they still need a couple more wins and I think the first one will come here. Match Prediction: 2-1
Charlie Says: Everton are on a bit of a good run at the minute and they will hope it can continue. However, Villa have Benteke who has found some great form and with the club also battling at the wrong end of the table they will want some points out of this game. I reckon it will be an even game. Match Prediction: 1-1
Liverpool vs QPR Prediction
Alex Says: What a disastrous month or so for Liverpool. Champions League hopes crushed. FA Cup exit at Wembley and now face missing out on Europa League as well. As for QPR, they are in real trouble in 19th place but I think they could shock Brendan Rodgers and pick up a point. Match Prediction: 1-1
Charlie Says: Liverpool come into this game off the back of a draw against West Brom and a loss to Hull and they will want to get back to winning ways. I think they will do just that here. Match Prediction: 2-1
Sunderland vs Southampton Prediction
Alex Says: The Black Cats drastically need points and despite Morgan Schneiderlin being out injured for The Saints, I just don’t see the hosts having enough to win the game. Could the nick a draw? Maybe, but I am still backing the visitors. Match Prediction: 0-1
Charlie Says: Sunderland are in a bad position at the moment and will be desperate to get out of it but they face tough opposition in Southampton this weekend and I think they’ll remain where they are for the time being. Match Prediction: 1-2Â
Swansea vs Stoke Prediction
Alex Says: A nothing game as both are safe. No pressure on either team so I don’t expect fireworks but Gary Monk’s men should have enough. Match Prediction: 2-0
Charlie Says: Both teams have had a decent season so far and they find themselves right next to each other in the table. I think the points will be shared here. Match Prediction: 1-1
West Ham United vs Burnley Prediction
Alex Says: West Ham are in free-fall and ending the season in poor form. Burnley are scrapping for their lives and need to get wins under their belt. I think they could pick up a vital victory at Upton Park with West Ham players on their holidays. Match Prediction: 1-2
Charlie Says: This one is quite hard to predict. West Ham are on a bit of a bad run and Burnley are propping up the league table. The Turf Moor side will be hoping to win here and get three points (as will The Hammers) but again I can see this ending in a draw. Match Prediction: 0-0
Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion Prediction
Alex Says: On 37 points, Tony Pulis’ men should be safe for another season but I don’t expect them to get much joy at Old Trafford. Louis Van Gaal’s men are fighting for second and they will get three points here. Match Prediction: 3-1
Charlie Says: The Red Devils want that top four position and they will want to open the gap between themselves and fifth place even more here. Got to be a win for United here despite their loss to Everton last weekend. Match Prediction: 3-1
Premier League Sunday Predictions
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace Prediction
Alex Says: It’s time to crown them officially as champions. Chelsea will win at Stamford Bridge to claim their fifth title and I back them to do it in style. Match Prediction: 3-0
Charlie Says: Chelsea want to clinch the title and they can do that with a win this weekend. I think Palace will put up a fight but the Blues will want this win more than anything and I’m sure they will get it here. Match Prediction: 2-0
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City Prediction
Alex Says: This game could have been massive if both teams continued their form from the first half of the season. However, both have dropped and neither can achieve their main goal in my opinion. Spurs will fight for Europa, whilst City will battle for second. For this one, I reckon Spurs could shock City and put more pressure on Manuel Pellegrini. Match Prediction: 3-2
Charlie Says: This should be a close game, with City in second and Tottenham banging in the goals through Harry Kane. Despite the goals from the England striker, I do feel as if City will just snatch it here. But it should be close! Match Prediction: 2-3
Premier League Monday Prediction
Hull vs Arsenal Prediction
Alex Says: Tricky game to predict this. Hull buzzing after a 1-0 victory at the KC over Liverpool, but still have the threat of relegation on their minds. Arsenal will want to finish second and are usually good at winning these kind of games. Time to sit on the fence and predict a draw. Match Prediction: 1-1
Charlie Says: Arsenal are on a superb run at the moment, going nine games unbeaten. They’ll want to try and take second place from City and they have a great chance to do so here as I think they will take the three points in this game. Match Prediction: 0-2
