Baggies latest team to be linked with Charlie Austin

West Bromwich Albion are the latest side to be linked with making a move for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.

The Baggies are now the fifth club to enter the race to sign The Rs striker after they failed to stay in the Premier League yet again.

The England international scored 18 goals for QPR last season, but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the top-flight, and after relegation, it’s expected the striker will leave Loftus Road this summer.

Race for Austin

West Brom have joined the likes of West Ham United, Southampton, Newcastle United and Chelsea in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

According to reports, WBA wanted to bring in Demba Ba from Besiktas, but after he joined Chinese club Shanghai Shenua, The Baggies are now focused on bringing Austin to The Hawthorns.

It’s believed QPR want around ÂŁ15million for Austin, and all clubs interested are considering launching formal bids for the England forward.

All clubs interested are in the market for new strikers, and West Brom are the latest to be linked with the 24-year-old.

Interested Parties want Striker

Tony Pulis is keen to sign a new forward amid fears of Saido Berahino‘s fitness ahead of the new season, whilst Steve McClaren at St James Park wants to bring in a new striker with Papiss Cisse potentially leaving over the summer.

West Ham are also in the mix for Austin’s signature as new manager Slaven Bilic wants to stamp his mark on The Hammers, and the former Croatia manager is expected to have a busy debut summer in England.

As for Southampton, they are keen to find a suitable partner for Graziano Pelle, whilst Chelsea are in the market for a new hitman after Didier Drogba‘s departure from the club.

Radamel Falcao is expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan, but his arrival could force Loic Remy out the club, so Austin could be the Frenchman’s replacement.

As it stands, QPR have received no formal offers for Austin despite the strong interest.
