Baggies claim no approaches have been made for striker

West Bromwich Albion will not sell Saido Berahino in the January transfer window, according to director of football Richard Garlick.

Berahino was subject of much transfer speculation during the summer, with Tottenham making four unsuccessful bids and the Burundi-born star refusing to appear for the club again.

The 22-year-old has since apologised for his comments aimed towards West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace, via Twitter, but has struggled in front of goal, scoring just three times this season.

It could be his lack of goals that are the reason for the Baggies yet to here from Spurs again, ahead of the January transfer window. But the Hawthorns club are expecting the Premier League’s top sides to show their interest again in the new year.

No offers for Berahino

“The club’s position remains unchanged. We can’t stop people if they want to bid, that is up to them.” Garlick admitted.

“But he is not a player we have identified as one we want to move on. The jungle drums are not sounding.

“There is always going to be speculation in the press, but we have not had any discussions or been approached.”

Spurs London rivals Chelsea are also looking at Berahino, who is rated at ÂŁ20 million, having scored 20 times for West Brom last campaign.
