West Ham United manager, Sam Allardyce, is keen on signing out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu.

After keeping his job at Upton Park this Summer, Allardyce has promised the club’s board and also the fans that they will start to play more attractive football next season, rather than their classic route-one approach, despite it keeping them in the Premier League for yet another year.

With a new style of play set to be adapted for The Hammers, the manager is keen to add players who can bring attacking style and a passing mentality to the club, and he’s looking on the fringes of some of the top teams in England.

Now Allardyce is keen on bringing in Romeu from Chelsea, who spent the last season out on-loan in Spain with Valencia, and despite his impressive performances in La Liga, he won’t be featuring regularly under Jose Mourinho, which could see him sell this Summer.

A potential stumbling block for The Hammers would be that Romeu himself favours a move back to Spain permanently, but as it stands, no formal bids have been made for his services.
