West Ham United agree fee for Norwegian star

It has been reported that West Ham United have agreed a pre-contract deal for Borussia Monchengladbach Midfielder Harvard Nordtveit.

With the 25 year old Norwegian out of contract in the summer, there have been a swarm of clubs interested in him, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, which has reportedly been rejected by the player.

But a source told media outlet Here Is The City that the Hammers have got the ex Arsenal man before Liverpool could even act on it. The source was quoted saying:

“The deal is done, and has been put to bed – both parties are happy to have got it done and finalised,”

“Of course an injury could still scupper the deal as a pre-contract isn’t medical dependent but everyone is delighted to have got him.”

West Ham, who currently lie 6th in the table and are looking to push on and perhaps gain a Champions League spot, will want to build on their successes this season and land a few signings over the summer.

Jurgen Klopp however will presumably be kicking himself over this, as he has been watching the Monchengladbach midfielder over the course of the season after leaving Borussia Dortmund.
