Bayern Munich midfielder could end his career at Anfield
Xabi Alonso could be set to make an emotional return to Liverpool once his contract expires at Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.
The midfielder is a free-agent in the summer and according to early reports, the Bundesliga champions are not willing to offer the 33-year-old a new deal, meaning he can leave the club for free.
According to German newspaper Bild, Alonso‘s contract saga at the Allianz Arena has paved the way for Liverpool to approach him in the New Year to finish his career at Anfield.

Alonso was a fan favourite during his time in Merseyside, before he left in order to join La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The midfielder went on to make 210 appearances for the Reds during his five years there, and it’s believed Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing him back to Anfield one last time.
Due to the Bosman Ruling, Liverpool can hold talks with Alonso as soon as January.
