Ivorian is wanted by American sides should he leave Manchester City

Yaya Toure is wanted by several MLS clubs this summer, according to reports.

The Ivorian is heavily expected to leave Manchester City after it was announced the Pep Guardiola would be taking over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season.

Toure is coming to the end of his career and it’s believed once Guardiola arrives, he will look to replace the powerhouse centre-midfielder, which could effectively end his Etihad stay.

It’s reported that there is already interest in Toure from the MLS, with New York Red Bulls and Orlando City making their interest known, as well as possibly one other club.

There is also an option of Toure going out to join New York City FC, the MLS side that is owned by the same people who own City. Frank Lampard currently plays for them after spending a season on-loan at the Etihad.

Toure Favours MLS Move

According to reports, Toure is interested in playing out in America, and deems it a perfect way to retire from the game.

The 32-year-old is also wanted in China, but it’s believed he would prefer the American lifestyle and the more competitive nature of the MLS, despite the financial gain being in the Chinese Super League.
