Zinedine Zidane has offered to mentor Gareth Bale if his move to Real Madrid materialises, the Real legend says that Bale could be the best player in the world in the next ‘four or five years.’ Zidane currently holds the post of Real Madrid assistant coach. Zidane has won the FIFA World Player of the Year three times, and Ballon D’Or once. He was also chosen as the best player of the year inLigue 1, in Serie A and in La Liga and was awarded the 2006 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball, and European Championship Player of the tournament during his career.

Bale is expected to make a move to the Spanish giants imminently with a world record price tag to his name, still only 24, Bale has a lot of room for development and Zidane has said he is keen to tank a hands-on role on the wingers future.

Zidane signed for Real Madrid for an eye watering £45.6 million in 2001 from Juventus, Zidane stated ‘I know what it is to be the most expensive player in the world and I can hopefully offer him advice and mentor him. There’s always a lot of attention with a big transfer fee. As a player you don’t even think about the fee, but there is hysteria that comes with it.

Zidane hopes to ease the pressure on the welsh winger, ‘my door at Real Madrid will always be open for Gareth and during his first season he will need to use it. He was in the top three players in Europe last season, but he can reach even higher levels, he will get even better. We are looking at a guy who can be the best player in the world for the next four or five years.’

The winger is set to sign for Real Madrid in the coming days with a fee being touted around £90 million region, this would eclipse the previous world record transfer fee of £80 million, with Cristiano Ronaldo moving from Manchester United to Real Madrid in July 2009.
