Zlatan tells Pogba to embrace the pressure

Zlatan Ibrahimovic tells Man United team-mate Paul Pogba that he must be able to handle the scrutiny, saying it’s ‘child’s play’.

Paul Pogba’s performance in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday, which saw him concede a penalty, crumble under pressure in front of goal, and escaping punishment for something the WWE would be proud of on Jordan Henderson. These factors of his game drew added unwanted attention along with the endless publicity stunts around the world’s most expensive player.
The French midfielder, who signed from Juventus for ÂŁ89 million last summer, recently became the first player in the Premier League player to get his own Twitter emoji in the lead up to the game, which was flashed around the advertising boards as part of the commercial drive.
Despite his current run of form, Pogba appeared to struggle under the intense spotlight of the game, and with unfortunate timing, he was at the centre of more Adidas marketing with the launch of the Adidas x Pogba, a new range of football and fashion products.
However, Ibrahimovic, whose 13th goal in as many games extended United’s unbeaten run to 16 matches, expects Pogba to handle all the fanfare around him. ‘Pressure is something I enjoy’, Ibrahimovic said, ‘I don’t know Paul personally to be able to answer that for him. But I think he likes it also, because without pressure, we would not be on our toes at the top level’.
