Kevin De Bruyne not bothered by abysmal Anfield record

Manchester City’s midfield star Kevin De Bruyne is not afraid of Anfield.

The Belgian midfielder claimed that he is not bothered by City’s poor record at Liverpool. Manchester City are already 6 points behind the Reds in the Premier League title race and are looking to get a win to close the points gap at the top. De Bruyne is one of the more important players Pep Guardiola will be placing his hopes on if City are to secure a rare away win at Anfield.

“I don’t care,” De Bruyne said. “A lot of circumstances will decide the game. What can a player do with statistics like this?

“It’s a game like another. We know it’s a big game – Liverpool are ahead. We have to go back, recover [from the away trip to Italy to play Atalanta] and be ready for next Sunday.”

“Professionals want to play in front of 50, 60, 70, 80 thousand people and it makes it worthwhile,” he added.

“You train all your life to get to the big stages. I want to compete for titles and to be the best, and to do that you have to win against the best.

“The media will make a lot of it, and people have been talking about it for the whole week, even before the Champions League, but we just do our job, keep calm and prepare ourselves.”

Manchester City will have to avoid a defeat at all costs if they are to stay in the title race. Can De Bruyne steal a win for his team against the mighty Reds?
