Shaun Goater has explained why Manchester City losing tomorrow night to Liverpool is not the end of the world.

Pep Guardiola’s team visit Anfield with the Blues already 6 points behind in the Premier League. This has prompted many football experts to say that should Manchester City lose tomorrow, they will not be in the title race anymore.

However, Shaun Goater believes otherwise. He called the Premier League a funny and an unpredictable race and said City will still be in the running even if they fall nine points behind Liverpool after tomorrow.

“Football is funny,” Goater told the Daily Mail. “It is about momentum, and right now Liverpool are in a great period.

“They are getting a bit of luck, and in some games they are scoring late and that is keeping the momentum.

“It is still very, very early in the season and the league is just as competitive.

“I saw Aston Villa play Man City and I thought they would win, but wow it was tight.

“That shows me there a number of teams that can play against Liverpool and Manchester City and get a result.

“If it was around February, then it would be completely different, but it is still early and Manchester City still have so much potential.”
