Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has backed Mauricio Pochettino and hailed him for their success.
“We are fully behind the manager, we love the way he works,” he said. “We’ve built a great team and a great unit over the last three or four years. It’s down to us to continue that and take another step forward. We are still in all the competitions. It’s about turning that into a trophy. He [Pochettino] has a great personality. He’s a great manager, but he’s a great guy off the pitch as well. He treats you like a friend, but he earns that respect from you. He’s great to talk to, but, most importantly, he is a great coach and we all want to play for him.”
The Tottenham star had said his team are favourites in big matches. “Over the last few years, we have turned that around,” he added. “We were always the ones going into these games as the underdog and now some of these games we are going into as favourites, especially at home. “When we match their intensity, keep the ball and make it hard for them, that’s when we can do damage.”
However, it turned out ironical after they slumped to a 1-o defeat to United.
