Liverpool have officially recalled Ovie Ejaria from his loan spell with Scottish Premiership outfit, Rangers.

The Glasgow side released a statement regarding the matter – “Rangers and Liverpool have agreed to terminate Ovie Ejaria’s Ibrox loan period. Ovie will be returning to Liverpool immediately.”

“The midfield player has not settled in Scotland and wishes to continue his career back with his parent club. Ovie arrived at Ibrox in June and played twenty-eight matches including eleven times in the Europa League, scoring twice for the Gers. Rangers thanks him for his commitment and efforts. Everyone at the club wishes him well for his future.”

Ejaria was brought into the Ibrox by Steven Gerrard and for quite some time the match seemed lucrative for all parties. The 21-year-old got to feature in 28 games and was starting to find his attacking stride. He was even competing with Ryan Kent, another Liverpool loanee for the number of take-ons(8) while on the dribble.

Gerrard has worked wonders with this Rangers squad to station themselves at the very top of the Scottish top-flight. Almost all of his summer signings has been impactful including Ejaria.

The Englishman, now back at Anfield will have to settle for scarce minutes under Jurgen Klopp especially with top professionals like Naby Keita, Georginio Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri already established in the pecking order.

Liverpool could also find Ejaria a more suitable home through the upcoming January window.
