Brazil coach Tito revealed why star player Fernandinho has refused to play for the national team.

“The first player I wanted to call (after the World Cup) was Fernandinho. The number one. He is an extraordinary player who plays a lot,” Tite told SporTV. “But this cruelty came to his family and he promised them that he would not go back. I went to talk to him personally because the Brazilian team is very proud to have an athlete with such dignity and professionalism. I’m not stupid enough to summon an unhappy player. I hope he has light, I will support him a lot.”

Brazil suffered a 2-1 loss in the quarter finals of the 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup and many reports have suggested that the Brazilian faced a lot of the heat including some racist comments. Brazilians are known to be avid lovers of football and are also known to react rather irrationally when their team fail to win the World Cup, such is the expectation of the national team.

Fernandinho has been a star player for Guardiola at City and will definitely be a big miss to Brazil in the upcoming national tournaments.
